In December of 2012, I drove into Santa Monica and went to the Wine Bodge on Broadway for the biggest interview of my life. When I emerged later, I landed a job with my idol.
It only took 45 minutes.
But I spent 7 months preparing for that interview.
Fortunately for you, you can do the same level of prep in a fraction of the time. I’ll show you how.
Hi, I’m that guy (@christopherming on LinkedIn) you probably found talking about how to use AI to land your next job.
Today, we’ll cover setting up your AI interview partner so you can interview like a natural and land that next role.
(This is a quick one today, but I’m going to give you all the prompts that you need to copy and paste and start working on this system this week.)
Who am I? I’m Chris Ming, dad of 3 and I live in Philly. I build education for companies like Clay and The Rundown, and have worked with companies like Noom, Reforge, Ramit Sethi, and others.
And I help people land remote jobs.
Let’s do this.
⚡️ Quick note: My clients are landing interviews like crazy right now.
One client went from crickets to 4 recruiter messages in 3 days after I tweaked his LinkedIn profile.
“My hit rate jumped from 0% to 14% (application-to-interview). For every 7 jobs I applied to, 1 became an interview!”
— Zack K.
Another got an offer the same day he interviewed, after following my process.
“Once my materials and targeting were dialed in, I got an interview and leaned heavily on everything I had learned. I received an offer the same day.”
— Jeff W.
That’s why I started my Land The Interview service—where I fix your resume, LinkedIn, and cover letter so you stop getting ghosted and start getting responses.
No more wondering why your applications disappear into black holes.
Just materials that actually work.

Most people struggle with interviews because they’re not telling the right stories in the right way, NOT because they’re unqualified.
You have great experiences—impactful projects, tricky team dynamics, lessons learned from mistakes. But when the pressure hits, it’s hard to recall them clearly or deliver them confidently.
This system fixes that.
It uses ChatGPT’s Study Mode to help you reflect, organize, and practice real interview answers weekly.
Then, in a three-step process, you can turn Study Mode into a super intelligent interview partner. So when you’re in the room (or on Zoom), your answers feel clear, thoughtful, and real—not robotic.
(Also, here’s the most common interview question—and how to nail it.)
Some Quick Best practices
-
Use ChatGPT mobile
-
Turn on Study mode
-
Use Voice to chat with GPT, this makes it really casual and easy.
-
If you prefer typing so you can edit, use Wispr Flow so you can speak it out, then edit the transcription when you’re done.
-
Copy and paste each prompt in each step in ChatGPT
✅ The Process
Step 1: The Interview Story Discovery (15 minutes, one-time)
Once you paste the prompt, ChatGPT will guide you through a structured interview about your past roles, projects, strengths, and the kinds of questions that trip you up.
It will ask ONE question at a time and guide the flow based on your answers.
👉 Here’s the prompt:
You are an expert job search coach who helps professionals prepare for interviews using storytelling. Your goal is to help the user create a personalized prompt bank of behavioral interview questions based on their background, then set up a recurring system to help them practice and improve these answers each week.
Step 1: Experience Discovery Interview
Ask the following questions ONE at a time. After each response, reflect back what you learned and naturally transition to the next. Wait for the user’s answer before proceeding.
1. What type of roles are you targeting right now?
2. What are 3–5 standout projects or accomplishments from your last 2 roles?
3. What kinds of questions do you typically struggle with in interviews?
4. Are there any past roles, teams, or environments that were particularly challenging? Why?
5. What feedback have you received from past interviews—positive or negative?
6. What are your top 2–3 strengths? What do you want to be known for?
When the interview is done, summarize their key experiences, challenges, and goals, and confirm accuracy before moving on to Step 2.
Step 2: Custom Interview Prompt Bank
Based on your responses, ChatGPT will generate 20-25 custom prompts designed to:
-
Extract key stories for behavioral interviews
-
Help you rehearse clear and compelling responses
-
Map your experiences to common questions like:
-
“Tell me about a time you failed…”
-
“Give an example of working cross-functionally…”
-
“What’s your biggest strength?”
-
You’ll now have a personalized bank of stories that align to interview themes—and they’ll sound like you.
👉 Here’s the prompt:
Based on the responses, generate 20–25 personalized prompts to help them develop and rehearse strong stories. Mix the following types:
STAR behavioral questions (conflict, leadership, failure, impact)
Value-alignment questions (why us, what motivates you)
Personal growth stories (learning, pivot moments)
Role-specific challenges (e.g. design critique, PM roadmap decision, cross-functional delivery)
Curveballs (what’s your biggest weakness, tell me about a time you messed up)
Customize these prompts to reflect the experience and goals. Some examples:
Tell me about a time you disagreed with your manager. How did you handle it?
Walk me through a project you’re most proud of. What made it successful?
Describe a time you had to work under a tight deadline. How did you manage it?
What feedback have you received that changed how you work?
Tell me about a failure. What happened, and what did you learn?
Share a time when you led a cross-functional team. What was your role?
What motivates you in your work? How do you stay focused during slow periods?
When you’re done, present the full list of prompts and ask for feedback or edits.
Step 3: Weekly Practice Workflow
You’ve added your experiences and now have a prompt bank.
Now it’s time to practice.
Once you set this up, ChatGPT sets up a weekly recurring task (e.g. every Wednesday at 10am).
Here’s what happens:
-
It sends you 3 prompts from your custom bank.
-
You pick 1 and voice-dump your answer (recommended: 2–4 minutes).
-
ChatGPT gives feedback, rewrites your story into STAR format, and helps improve weak areas.
-
It stores your final answer for future practice.
👉 Here’s the prompt:
Once the prompt bank is approved, set up a recurring ChatGPT task:
Every [Wednesday at 10am], send 3 prompts from the bank.
I’ll pick one and voice-dump or share my answer
You’ll help improve the structure, rewrite in STAR format, and offer feedback.
You’ll also save your final version so you can review and practice it later.
💫 The Bottom Line
I have friend who still go into their interviews without prep.
They’re so smart. And qualified.
But this game is not won by qualifications alone. This is a game about convincing other people in a room that you’re the best fit.
This system with your AI interview partner will turn your scattered experiences into practiced stories you can tell naturally.
The AI can feel like magic, but the real secret sauce is the consistency. Fifteen minutes of weekly or daily practice compounds into interview confidence that’s impossible to fake.
In December 2012, I spent 7 months preparing for one interview. You can get the same level of preparation in 7 days using this system.
Set it up this week. Start practicing.
By the time you’re in your next interview, you’ll know exactly what stories to tell and how to tell them.
